I wonder why they didn’t run water through it to actually cool it off as it runs? It’s not going to last long without it.
So overall, I’d say this was a poor job.

They did. They mention it at the beginning and show it at about 9:00. It’ s what the orange bucket sitting in the engine bay is for.

Oh, I agree. The senselessness of it just was staggering in its magnitude.

Funny idea, decent proof of concept, poor execution. I’d love to see something like this but with a better, more powerful engine and a more well thought-out cooling system. And, preferably, done for Lemons racing. So mething like this in the back of, say, a Volkswagen Beetle, Toyota MR2, or Pontiac Fiero would be epic since the engine wouldn’t block forward visibility.

I’m sort of reflecting my own interests here... We’ve had that X1/9 out here for a few months and I keep watching videos of Hayabusa-driven X-ers and thinking “hmmm, could that work????”

I looked for it at the end when they were driving and didn't see it. I could only take so much of the big fella giggling before it made me uncomfortable and I had to stop watching.

Honda CBX inline six. It’ll only make ~100 hp, but it’ll sound like an F1 car!

Double points for picking a car with a boat name. E.g.: Corvair, corvette, etc.
